About

InvoicePlane is a free and open source invoicing application. The project is the official successor and owner of the codebase of FusionInvoice version 1.x, which was written by Jesse Terry. FusionInvoice was an open source software before but was transformed into a commercial product with the release of version 2.x.
Kovah, the InvoicePlane project leader, took over the codebase and restarted the project with a new name: InvoicePlane.

The Idea behind InvoicePlane

The main idea behind the InvoicePlane software is the creation of an application you host on your own server and use it for basic invoicing and client management.
The target groups are freelancers, self-employed workers and small to medium sized companies which need a reliable and easy to use invoicing system but who can't afford an expensive software.

Goals

We want to:

• keep InvoicePlane a free and open source software.
• provide updates on a regular base.
• maintain a clean and hassle-free interface that is easy to learn and use.
• offer a lot of functions and features while trying not to overload the application.
• make configuration adn customization as easy as possible.
• keep the requirements low so InvoicePlane can also be used within older environments.

  InvoicePlane was downloaded more than 100.000 times from 196 different countries as of January 2017.

• 20.05.2015 - Release of version 1.4.0

  InvoicePlane ships with some new smaller features that improve the overall usability.

• November 2015 - InvoicePlane is used worldwide

  InvoicePlane is now used by more than 12.000 companies and freelancers in about 150 countries.

• 21.05.2015 - 1st Birthday of the InvoicePlane project

  InvoicePlane is now one year old and it was a pretty interesting journey from the start up to this point with the release of version 1.4.0.

• 12.04.2015 - Release of version 1.3.0

  We introduced password protection for PDF files, more settings to customize the application and an advanced handling of payments.

• 06.04.2014 - InvoicePlane reached 2.000 downloads

  For the first time since the project started the downloads exceeded 2.000 downloads and about 6.000 people visited the InvoicePlane website in march.

• 22.02.2015 - Release of version 1.2.0

  Release of the next feature version with a lot of new features like the new products module, credit invoices or new settings to customize the software.

• 09.11.2014 - Release of version 1.1.0

  Introduction of several improvements and new features like update notifications, new settings and updated engine files.

• 12.07.2014 - Release of version 1.0.0

  Release of the first official version of InvoicePlane with a completely modernized interface.

• 21.05.2014 - Start of the InvoicePlane Project

  Registration of the invoiceplane.com domain, of the repositories on Github.com and import of the files of FusionInvoice version 1.x.

• 20.05.2014 - Transfer of the FusionInvoice codebase

  The original author of the application, Jesse Terry, transferred the ownership of the codebase to Kovah.
